Privacy policy
Version of Nov 4, 2026.
This policy explains what happens to your information when you use AltarPlan. Operator: Stelvia Group LLC. Contact: contact@altarplan.com.
What we don't do
In this version of the site you don't have to create an account, no forms send us your data, and we don't use pixels or ads. We only use analytics cookies if you accept them (see below). We don't sell your information.
What you type and choose in the tool stays in your browser. We don't send it to AltarPlan's servers. There is one exception, and it only happens if you turn it on: the "Use my location" button.
Use my location (optional)
Use my location (optional). It only works if you tap the button and accept your browser's permission prompt. Your browser gets your location, rounds it to about 0.6 miles (1 km) and, if you are in the U.S., sends it directly to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission's public service (FCC, geo.fcc.gov) to find out which county you are in. As with any visit to a website, the FCC also receives your IP address, your browser type and the name of our site, and it handles that information under the FCC's privacy policy. If you are not in the U.S., your location never leaves your device. AltarPlan does not receive, store, sell or share your coordinates, and does not use them for advertising or analytics. In your browser (local storage, not cookies) we save only whether you agreed to use your location and the last county you looked up, so we can offer it when you come back. You can delete it with "Forget my choice" and withdraw the permission in your browser settings at any time. For questions or requests about your data: contact@altarplan.com.
Type of ceremony (optional)
If you tell us in the checklist what kind of ceremony you're having, we use it only to add tasks to your plan. It is saved in your browser, not on our servers, and we don't share it or use it for advertising or statistics. Google Analytics is not loaded on that page. You can remove it at any time from "Your wedding details."
Usage statistics (Google Analytics 4, optional)
If you tap "Accept" on the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to measure, in aggregate, how the site is used: pages visited, time spent, device and browser, approximate location (country and region) and where the visit came from. The cookies _ga and _ga_ followed by a code are set, and they last up to 2 years. The basis is your consent; if you don't accept, no Google script is loaded and nothing is sent to Google.
We don't turn on Google signals or ad personalization, and we don't use this data for advertising. Google acts as the tool provider and may process data in the U.S.; see its privacy policy. We don't use Google Analytics on the checklist, the budget calculator or the marriage license search with location.
You can withdraw your consent whenever you want from "Cookie preferences" in the footer, or from the cookie policy. We treat the Global Privacy Control signal as a decline. Your choice is saved for 6 months in your browser.
External services that load with the site
The fonts (Figtree and Fraunces, OFL license) are served from our own site. For now, the photos on the home page and on some cards load from Unsplash, so your browser tells Unsplash your IP address and the usual details of a visit (such as your browser type). The photos are temporary. We don't load pixels or ads, and the only third-party script (Google Analytics 4) loads only if you accept it, and never on the checklist, the budget calculator or the marriage license search.
What is saved in your browser
The tools run in your browser. To remember your progress (for example, your wedding date, the tasks you've checked or your budget), they may use your browser's local storage (localStorage). That information stays on your device, we don't receive it, and you can delete it with the tool's delete-data button or in your browser settings.
Hosting logs
The hosting service that serves the site may keep technical logs of visits, such as IP address, date and time, the page requested and the browser type. They are used to keep the site running and secure. We don't use them to identify you or build profiles.
Future changes
If we add accounts, forms, ads or other services in the future that change how we handle your information, we will update this policy, tell you on the site before the changes apply, and ask for your consent when the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we have about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, depending on the law that applies to you. Because we don't store your personal data on our servers, we probably have nothing to show you, but write to us anyway and we'll answer. Children under 13 should not use the site without a parent or guardian.
